I’m just getting back from The Sierra Pacific Spring Conference at the wonderful Cache Creek Casino and Resort.
Superintendent Kyle Jones had the place in really great shape for Friday’s golf. Thursday and Friday’s seminar talks were as good as it gets. Despite not sleeping at all….Because I couldn’t…not because I was out too late, I managed to struggle through my talk (that was supposed to be on Thursday) Friday AM. I’ll post the talk on the ZealotBlog as soon as I can.
And for those of you who want to know more about the Video that Dean Kinney showed, or want to watch it again, here it is: Johnny Video.

I used to read this guy on The Well and really liked him and now he’s writing Tech for Fortune Online…
In this article…PED talks about some numbers floating about saying that there are 1.4 Million Missing iPhones:
Here’s how he gets that number:
* 3.75 million iPhones sold as of Dec. 29 (per Apple’s Q1 report)
* minus less than 2 million iPhones activated through AT&T as of Dec. 31 (per AT&T)
* minus 350,000 iPhones sold in Europe via O2, T-Mobile and Orange
* minus 750,000 iPhones purchased to be unlocked
* equals 670,000 unaccounted for
It’s very interesting reading and even tho I’m one of the stoopid AppleHeads that stood line for my phone…I wonder about world domination. I don’t wonder much, but I wonder none the less

So for the last weeks I’ve been suffering. Too much travel and too much airplane and too much…well too much have me sick. Plugged ears. Infected. Bad.
The Doctor? Well that’s another rant.
But tonite Barb and I got Neti Pots. I had one. I couldn’t find it and went and got us a couple of new ones and some Himalayan Salts.
Do I feel better? Yes. So far. But the amount of crap that came out of my head was interesting and sick.
Here is a great blog post from a really cool blogger at Daily Cup of Yoga.
I know..Ashtanga Shemanga…but still…being health is cool and I need more cool. Get a Neti Pot. I did.

American Gladiators is back!! Now I ask you, how can you beat a show where average american gym rats and wannabe sportos get smacked, slapped, beaten and worked over by gigantic muscleheads all hosted by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali? You can’t. You Just Can’t!I’m watching this as I write this entry and let me tell you, it is just too much fun. Back in the day, I loved watching the original series. Every so often, they would let one of the contestants win, but mostly it was just about watching ordinary people get knocked around. OK..I’m sure they didn’t let anyone win, but you know what I mean…casting is everything.I’ve been looking forward to the new show. But tonight’s premier is just better than I ever thought it would be. I mean come on…gladiators like Toa (real name Tanoai Reed, who lists “stunt double for “The Rock”, as part of his bio…)
or the likes of Crush (real name Gina Carano, who is an avid Muy Thai boxer and who’s Dad was in the NFL).
are gonna go up against Joe and Jean average. This is gonna be good. And it was. We watched some great slammings and well, even got to see a Gladiator get hurt. Now I am a huge Laila Ali fan. Her 24-0 record with 21 knockouts is real to me, chick or not. And the fact that she did Dancing With The Stars, just should have shown everyone how cool she is..and now this. Perfect. Bravo, NBC. Bravo!! American Gladiators returns! And this makes me very very happy! Here’s a wordpress fansite already up and running!!

Ok so….
I’m going to do this thing where I simply google some musicians and do my version of “where are they now”. It won’t be too technical, but you may find out a lot about my likes and dislikes and musical influences.
Rudy Sarzo.

So let me take you back….it was around 1982..perhaps maybe late 1981 and somehow I scored tickets to see Ozzy. It was his Blizzard of Oz tour. The CU Event Center, Boulder, Colorado. Opening act was a band we never had heard of…Motley Crue. For us, the big thing was to get to see Randy Rhodes play guitar. But really, at the time, I was mostly just thinking about the Bass. These guys took the stage and we happened to be on the side where Bassist Rudy Sarzo was going to town. And he did. While the whole thing was captivating, and Randy Rhodes was just amazing, I was blown away by Sarzo. And it turns out that I would see him again and again..with Quiet Riot and Whitesnake. But that night was special, as one of the basses he played is, I believe, pictured above, a Fretless Fender P-Bass. Yup. A fretless bass in a metal show. Now that just took skill and guts. It played it on “Believer” from the “Diary of a Madman” album and for sure a couple more cuts.
I saw Ozzy after Randy’s death, with Sarzo playing bass and Brad Gills of NightRanger playing guitar. Gillis had this crazy sound and you have to give the guy props for filling the shoes of Rhodes. Perhaps he’ll be a subject of one of my next searches.
Over the years I have kept track of Sarzo, and when Peavy came out with the Sarzo Signature Bass
I had to have one. I sold mine pretty quickly and not long ago just lost on an Ebay auction for one in fretless form. I was mad for days over that one!! I also saw one at Ed Roman’s shop in vegas, but alas no $ for that one
Rudy Sarzo.
Here’s a link to Rudy’s Bio on his website. Turns out he’s touring a bit and way into Sony’s Acid software. So cool.

I got a pointed to this post
And it made me laugh until the tears ran. I know, I’m easy. But if you’ve played Halo3 at all, you’ll see the insanity of her questionnaire as a good thing.

So..what does Dave Wilber do on New Year’s Eve?
Pretty Simple. We are heading to Metro Calvary
And I can’t think of a better time than that. I remember a new year’s eve a long time ago seeing Black Flag. But indeed life has changed.
Music wise, Danny Donnelly will be there and while I see some Henry Rollins in him (or maybe he sees it in me), there won’t be much stage diving going on.

But I absolutely love Danny and for me..there’s no where I’d rather be than Metro and no other musician in the world (sorry Henry, Edge, Jimi) that I’d rather be hearing to ring in the new year.
